Anthony DeFranco
Anthony DeFranco is the co-owner, manager and stylist for the Salon DeFranco in Great Neck, New York. Beginning his career in 1974, Anthony DeFranco started as a top assistant to the legendary Peter Coppola, famed hairdresser to the stars, and continued to rise in the beauty industry throughout the decade earning key positions at top salons. By 1980, along with his partner Rene Spagnolo, Mr. DeFranco purchased Peter Coppola’s, Peter’s Place/Salon Esthetique, and properly renamed it the DeFranco Spagnolo Salon.
Wanting to create a truly unique and luxurious atmosphere for his clients, Mr. DeFranco decided to add a modern day spa hideaway, creating the DeFranco Spagnolo Salon/Day Spa. A true departure from the Peter’s Place of yesteryear, the establishment boasts an expert staff renowned in their specialized fields from hair coloring to Swedish massages, and offers the finest European hair and skincare products.
Highly respected in the fashion and beauty world in New York and abroad, Mr. DeFranco travels frequently to attend and teach seminars, and he guest lectures at Intercoiffure, a prestigious organization of the top 2200 salons worldwide. In addition, Mr. DeFranco’s work has been featured in national Revlon ads, as well as on the pages of Modern Salon, Salon News and Passion magazine.
Mr. DeFranco continues to service his strong following on the gold coast of Long Island and has been recognized as a community leader in the battle against Breast Cancer.
Nicholas DeFranco
Nicholas DeFranco is the Color Director for Salon DeFranco in Great Neck, NY and is a talented second generation hair professional specializing in all aspects of hair color and highlights.
Nick has been working in the business since he finished his training in 1999 at the Learning Institute for Beauty Sciences on Long Island. While he experienced all aspects of hair cutting and styling early on in his career, Nick found that he had a particular affinity for hair color, which brings out the best in a fabulous haircut. He has since cultivated expertise in the science of hair color and especially highlighting with advanced training from the Goldwell Academy and Schwarzkopf Institute.
Nick’s approach to hair color is to insure that it complements each individual’s skin tone, eye color and personal style. Nick success is in creating a customized look for clients that suits their lifestyle and makes them feel their best. Nick’s ability to listen to his clients combined with his professional expertise results in exceptional outcomes and loyal customers.
In 2016 Nicholas has taken the next step an become partial owner of the Salon DeFranco.
Lori DeFranco, Colorist
Lori began her career in hair styling right out of high school in 1997 after a specialized course of study in Beauty Culture at Sewanhaka High School in Floral Park, NY.
Lori is adept at all types of hair coloring including single process, highlights and corrective color but is known for her talent with redheads. Lori’s outgoing personalizty, her aritistic vision and impeccable attention to detail all result in successful outcomes for her clients. Clients can walk in feeling at ease and comfortable, but most importantly, confident with Lori as their hair colorist.
Lori sums up her lifelong passion: “I am blessed to be able to combine my professional experience and training into making people feel good about themselves. I love being a mother and I love what I do!”
Lori has received advanced training from the Goldwell Academy and possesses Euphora Elite Team Certification.
